We were fortunate in 2011 to acquire some fantastic Ranching for Wildlife elk hunting opportunities near Hayden, CO in the Northwest corner of Colorado. This operation is conducted by our other company, partnered with Zach Prock, under the name of Cross Mountain Outfitters, LLC, license # 2851.Through some fantastic habitat improvements and extensive wildlife management, we are able to offer you this unique hunting opportunity. This ranch allows you as the hunter to enjoy the privilege of hunting elk and mule deer with a rifle from the beginning September, which is the beginning of the elk bugle season, through the end of November. Some of the great advantages of hunting Cross Mountain Ranch are guaranteed licenses/tags, hunting with your weapon of choice during the peak of the rut and retaining your preference points for future hunting opportunities. If you tag out early, no problem, you can use your spare time to fly-fish some parts of the Williams Fork River or any of the ranch’s stocked ponds. This ranch offers first class facilities which include two lodges, each with its own distinct personality. The Fish Creek Lodge is located about 45 minutes from Steamboat Springs and is our newest and most luxurious facility. Located in the Upper Country at an elevation of approximately 8,000 feet, it is the perfect blend of luxury and comfort. The Pyramid Lodge is located in the Upper Country (Rio Blanco County). Situated in a box canyon at the end of the east fork of the Williams Fork River, this beautiful, pristine and remote lodge sits at an elevation of 8,000 feet at the foot of Pyramid Peak (13,000 feet).
Elk hunting on this Colorado ranch has a very high success rate. You can enjoy hunting one of the largest herds of elk in Colorado. Our 35,000 plus acres of private ranches provides some of the best wildlife habitat around. Historically, the success rates on this ranch have been over 90% opportunity for all archery, muzzleloader and rifle hunters. Hunters with a little patience should have opportunities at nice 5×5 and 6×6 bulls with a few bulls reaching that magical 300 B&C gross score. Transportation on this hunt is out of four-wheel drive pickups and Polaris Rangers. Once you arrive to your area to hunt, we will be on foot for spot and stalk hunting.
